Roberts’ absence was due to her attendance at an exclusive screening of her upcoming documentary, The Harlem Hellfighters, in New York City the night before. She referred to the documentary as “the greatest story never told until now” and highlighted the African American military regiment from Harlem that fought in World War I.

Roberts’ Role in The Harlem Hellfighters

Roberts serves as an executive producer and narrator for The Harlem Hellfighters. The one-hour documentary is a companion piece to The Great War, a docuseries that Roberts produced and unveiled at Sundance.
