Love & Jane: A Hallmark Movie Inspired by Jane Austen
Alison Sweeney, known for her iconic role as Sami Brady on “Days of Our Lives,” has made a name for herself in Hallmark movies. She stars, produces, and even writes some of the hits she appears in.
Sweeney recently announced a new Hannah Swensen film, but before that, she has another Hallmark movie, “Love & Jane,” premiering on February 10.
In an interview with TV Insider, Sweeney shared insights into the movie. It’s part of a month dedicated to inspirational author Jane Austen. The idea came about when Sweeney and David Weaver, who worked together on another Hallmark film, pitched it to the network. Hallmark was already planning Jane Austen-themed movies, and the timing was perfect.
“Love & Jane” follows Lilly (Sweeney) as she meets her true love, Trevor (Benjamin Ayres), and receives advice from Jane Austen. However, the story emphasizes Lilly’s personal growth and self-care rather than just catching a guy.
Alison Sweeney on Returning to “Days of Our Lives”
Sweeney expressed her love for her “Days of Our Lives” family and her openness to returning if her schedule allows. With the show’s 60th anniversary approaching in 2025, she has made her interest known to the producers.
“Are you kidding? All the time. Anytime,” she said about coming back for the anniversary.
While there have been no specific conversations yet, Sweeney is confident there’s time to work it out. The soap films six months in advance, so she expects more discussions later this year.
In the meantime, fans can enjoy Sweeney in “Love & Jane” and other upcoming Hallmark movies. “Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on Peacock.
